I don’t even know where to start, I guess at the beginning. I spoke with Thomas on Tuesday about replacing a bedroom door. It would need cut down slightly (the existing door was just off standard door measurements), hung, and painted. He seemed like a nice guy who knew what he was talking about so I gave him the job and he confirmed for Saturday at 8am. Saturday morning rolls around and no Thomas. Finally at 8:30 he texts me that he is running late and is on the way. I do not hear from him again until 10am when he finally shows up at my house. He told me he had a busted pipe at his house and I sympathized. No big deal, as long as the job gets done, I tell myself. After 3 hours he calls me to the door and shows me his completed work. At a glance, it looked fine. The cuts were very obviously not super straight but it wasn’t that noticeable unless you were really looking for it so I dismissed it. The door was wet with paint so I couldn’t touch it. Thomas tells me I can keep all his painting equipment (which I found a little odd) and then hightails out the door with his money. After 20-30 min the paint was dry enough to touch and I inspected a little further. THE DOOR DOESN’T SHUT. THE DOOR DOESN’T EVEN COME CLOSE TO SHUTTING. AND IF IT DID SHUT, THE LATCH HOLE IS 1/2 INCH OFF AND WOULDN’T LATCH CLOSED ANYWAY! I was sick to my stomach. There is NO WAY he didn’t know how poor a job he was doing before he started slapping paint on the door. I would think that just about 100% of people who install a door check that it closes FIRST THING after hanging it. He threw paint on it so I couldn’t touch it and left all his painting equipment so he could get the heck out of my house before I noticed. I have already put the old door back on and I cannot salvage it because it has already been sized down incorrectly. I am now out $150 and a door. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL. DO NOT call this guy, he will steal your money like he stole mine.
Thomas was very professional, explained what the job entailed and what needed to be done. In addition to being available on a Sunday, I felt like he had treated my issue as if it were his own. I will definitely utilize Thomas again.
He came same day, within an hour of calling! My blinds were hung and the area cleaned up in less than an hour. I will definitely be hiring them again!!
I will definitely hire Thomas & Son’s Handyman Services. They did a wonderful job with my kitchen & bathroom. I would recommend this company’s service to anyone! Prices are reasonable
