Disappointed in the lack of honesty from the stylist Kailey and lack of accountability from the owner Amber. I gave it a few weeks to think and reflect and my experience still doesn’t sit right with me.
To keep it as condensed as possible, I asked to go completely solid blonde. I was abundantly clear about what I wanted at both the consultation and color appointment. I did not want highlights. None of my reference photos show highlights. Nobody mentioned highlights until after my hair was done. But, I was given a full head of highlights. I asked multiple times for the stylist to be completely honest if my hair would look like the reference photos below, and not once did she tell me I would not look anything like that. For whatever reason, (budget, time, hair health) she decided to give me highlights. I genuinely never permitted that beforehand. I seriously would not have gone through with it if I knew at all. Multiple people in my life tell me I look really old now like I have grey hair because of the contrast of the light hair streaking through my still largely present dark hair.
I have never ever asked someone to fix my hair but this cost me $450 and I was so stunned by the fact that I had received a service that was never discussed, so I felt it was time to speak up as respectfully as I can and ask them to fix it. I am not the type who just complains to get something free at all. I have been given the wrong burger at a restaurant and just accepted my fate rather than complain. I was nervous when I walked in to see what could be done about this mistake done to my hair, because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings, though I fully know this was her mistake. Originally, the receptionist booked me for the next week and said it would be a free correction, but that she would pass the issue along to the owner, Amber.
Amber did not actually hear me out. I mean, she read my message but just disregarded my side of the story to tell me Kailey thought highlights was the best way to get close to my goal within my budget. Okay… Whether that is a fact is irrelevant. That information would have been great beforehand. She should have clearly expressed this. Had I known, I would have changed the entire look I was going for, or waited to save up more. I swear to you people she never mentioned highlights or told me my hair wouldn’t look like how I wanted (again, I directly asked more than once). I did not expect her to double down on a blatant mistake on her part. And yet, Amber refused me a free fix or refund based on Kailees account. I still feel shocked weeks later that my hair just has to look like this now and it cost me $450 and who knows how much more to fix, but I am counting down the days until I can. I’m genuinely sad that I won’t be returning to this salon that I became loyal to. Neither will my mother, my mother in law, my grandma, my sister, or my good friend who all frequent the salon. I hope she realizes that poorly managing this just cost her 6 loyal clients who will likely warn others from going as well. Maybe she doesn’t care? In that case, let it be a warning to all of you that Kailee and Amber might not have your back as a customer and if they mess up, it’s on you.
Photos below will show my first reference photo i showed at my consultation of my own hair from 2019 where I said “I basically want it to look exactly like this again but blonde to the root” followed by the 2 reference photos I showed the day of the appointment. the last 2 photos are my current hair 2 weeks later.
I am thrilled with this place. Absolutely thrilled. Not only is it close, but the people there are super nice and know what they are doing. They have a really awesome menu that I will take full advantage of in the near future.
I HIGHLY recommend Daniella! She did such a good job and was fun to talk to.
I had my first appointment at Trend Salon and Spa this afternoon and I am completely thrilled with the entire experience. Jada, my stylist, was very professional, kind, and skilled. She listened to everything I asked for and made sure I was happy with every step of the process. The staff was very friendly and atmosphere was very comfortable. Plus, my hair looks amazing! Highly recommend their services.
I cannot say enough amazing things about Megan and this salon. I came in to see Leah for a full highlight, but when my hair didn’t turn out the way I had envisioned, I was honestly pretty emotional. Instead of brushing it off or rushing me out the door, Megan immediately sat down with me, talked everything through, and truly listened. She was calm, patient, and so incredibly kind.
Not only did she reassure me, but she stayed late to fix my hair and made sure I left feeling confident and happy. The level of care and dedication she showed meant more to me than I can express. Her talent with hair is undeniable, but it’s her kindness and professionalism that truly set her apart.
The entire salon team was also so supportive. The other stylists were unbelievably sweet — they checked on me, offered me snacks, and made me feel completely comfortable. You can tell this salon is filled with genuinely good people who care about their clients.
I walked out not just loving my hair, but feeling valued. That kind of experience creates loyalty. This is by far the best salon I have ever been to.
And I also have to mention Tyler, who does my lashes — her work is absolutely fantastic. I always leave feeling beautiful.
If you’re looking for talent, professionalism, and a team that truly cares, this is the place. 💛
✨ I’ve been going to Trend for four years now, and I can confidently say it’s my go-to salon for consistently amazing service. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with three different stylists, and each one has brought their own unique talent and care to the table. No matter who I book with, I always leave feeling refreshed, confident, and totally taken care of. The vibe is welcoming, the team is professional, and the results speak for themselves. Highly recommend!
