Never ordering from here again. My sandwich was not toasted. In fact it was soggy and cold. The sandwich I ordered comes with cheddar cheese and have no idea what kind of cheese they tossed on my sandwich but is definitely not cheddar. Whoever made it just tossed a bunch of mayonnaise on it thinking it would hide the wrong cheese. Sandwich went straight into the trash.
Walked in and nobody there. No phone orders ahead, took 17 min to make two sandwiches. Kids spend more time talking than making sandwiches. Just more disappointed, sandwiches are still amazing.
One of the workers look me up and down when I walked in (I’m 9months pregnant) and looked at me all weird, fine whatever doesn’t bother me, but then looked at her coworker and started saying how disappointing it was that so many young women are getting pregnant…. Mind u before I walked in and they noticed me they weren’t talking abt that at all… the girls coworker remarks that a lot of her friends from highschool got married and had kids to which the first girl said “that’s just sad” and looked over at me…. Very strange and I don’t believe that’s a conversation you should be having when customers are around or a conversation where you should judge people life choices when you know nothing. I was very uncomfortable. My food was good tho just conversations like that shouldn’t be had when customers are around or on work time.
I typically love Firehouse Subs. But this time it wasn’t so great… we ordered last night through Uber eats, we got 2 large combos, 1 medium combo and one medium sandwich. It came to $106!!! I know Firehouse subs is a bit in the spendy side, and typically I’m OK with that because I know they do a lot for 1st responders, but that was a bit more then I thought reasonable. I can’t speak for the other sandwiches, everyone seemed to enjoy them, but mine was very disappointing. French dip sandwiches are my favorite so I was very excited to see it on the menu, but it didn’t stand up to my expectations. There wasn’t very much meat on it, in fact neither end had any meat at all, at least 4 bites were nothing but bread, and where there was meat, it was pretty skimpy. If it weren’t for the dip it basically just tasted like bread… that brings me to the dip, the au jus… there wasn’t enough for the whole sandwich, which as mentioned above was the only thing giving that sandwich flavor… I know nothing is perfect but for the price I paid, I really expected a lot more.
June 2024 – Another outstanding visit to the Maricopa Firehouse restaurant. Everything great with our to go order. Thank you.
April 2024 – We visited the Firehouse Subs location in Maricopa on a Wednesday night around 7:30 p.m. Our previous visits to this restaurant were underwhelming at best, but we decided to give them another chance. When we walked in, there was another couple ordering their food. Besides them, the place had no other customers. We ordered our food to go and had a seat while our meal was being prepared. My wife ordered a medium BBQ Cuban Sub and I ordered a large Chicken Parmesan Meatball Sub. The total for these two sandwiches with no chips or beverages was $26.72. My wife said that her BBQ Chicken Sub was good and she had no complaints. It was prepared by cutting the bread in half lengthwise and placing the ingredients in the middle. The Chicken Parmesan Meatball Sub was prepared more in the style of an open-faced sandwich with the chicken meatballs on the bottom, covered with marinara sauce and topped with melted Mozzarella cheese. I’m guessing that there was Parmesan cheese in there somewhere since it is in the name of the sandwich. I found it to be very tasty, however, it was messy to eat. Luckily, they gave us a couple napkins. Overall, the food was hot, fresh and delicious. It was pricey, but we were both full at the end of the meal.
